The e-prescription solution provides two-way electronic communication between physicians and pharmacies, enabling pharmacies to receive electronic prescriptions via secure HTTPS transmission, seamlessly routing the prescription data directly into a pharmacy management system quickly and accurately. It also facilitates refill authorization requests and receives responses directly using a pharmacy computer, not a fax or phone. This absolute certainty as to what the physician is prescribing decreases medication errors, improves management of medications and enhances patient safety, while speeding up the entire filling process. E-prescribing also provides the potential to share information such as medication history with other healthcare organizations.
