Embedding Integration in On-Premises Applications
Pervasive offers three options for embedded application integration projects within distributed applications:
- Scheduled or event-driven invocation of complete embedded integration designs - For known applications that your software will need to sync with on a regular basis, embed all the business rules, logic, mapping and data validation and remediation necessary to get a seamless real-time or scheduled synchronization. Also allows passing any overrides necessary to customize the processes to the customer’s environment or specific application conditions.
- Function calls from a small interactive UI to the Integration Engine APIs to create or modify integration designs - For when there is a high degree of variation in data and interfaces or you need a lower visibility level on the integration tool.
- On-the-fly modification or creation of the XML integration design metadata - Macros add flexibility by allowing direct modification of field data manipulation code, target and source location and a variety of other parameters. Macro definitions are stored in a simple XML file, macrodef.xml, that can be easily modified. Also, pre-stored process and map files can be directly modified via the XML metadata at runtime, or those metadata files can be created from scratch giving you complete control over all aspects of the integration specifications. Schemas of these metadata files are documented in DTD structure files that are included in the Data Integrator installation under common DTDs.
